George was born in Abingdon, Virginia to Newell and Nancy (Graham) Humphrey. He was retired from Lowes and a member of First Presbyterian Church. George loved to sing gospel music and in the church choir. He loved doing yard work and working with any kind of tools. George was a comical person and would always try to help his wife, but somehow things always went awry. He served his county with honor in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and FEMA. George was a great husband, father, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Gin Humphrey and Margurite Tripplet.
George leaves his wife, Suwanna Humphrey of the home; three children, Pornchai Humphrey of Gosnell, Brandon Strange of Gosnell, and Thipphawan Intas of England; one sister, Anita Thayer and her husband Bobby of Abingdon, Virginia; and one granddaughter, Kimberley Intas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Wey officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at First Presbyterian Church.
