Mr. Mark A. Pruitt, 74, of Anacoco, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 in his residence. Born in Florien, April 6, 1932, he was the son of the late John L. and Quincy Lou Sims Pruitt. An Army veteran, he served his country with pride.

Mark was to celebrate his 50th year wedding anniversary with Mrs. Carrie this Saturday.

He has two surviving sons; Terry Pruitt of Anacoco and Bobby Pruitt and wife Donna of Rosepine. He has one granddaughter, Savannah Thomas and husband Steve, and is also survived by his brothers James Pruitt of Anacoco, Titus Pruitt of Florien and Luke Pruitt of Jasper.

They had four children; two of them preceded him in death, Jerry Mark and Ramona Lou. He is also preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, Blanchard and Johnny Pruitt and a sister, Lois Manasco.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31 in the Anacoco United Pentecostal Church the Revs. C.W. Dowden, Larry Whatley and Titus Pruitt officiated. Burial follower in the Mitchell cemetery under the direction of Smart and Son Funeral Home of Leesville.
