Thomas Rowland, of Braham, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Forest Lake, MN . He was 90 years old.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Braham.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Braham.
Thomas Robert Rowland, of West Rush Lake, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Forest Lake, Minnesota. He was 90 years old.
Thomas was born on September 8, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Joel and Elizabeth (Grams) Rowland.
Thomas was united in marriage to Lorena Cecilia Benjamin on April 24, 1945 in Ward Springs, Minnesota. They made their home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota and were blessed with a son and two daughters. On October 30, 1945 Thomas was inducted into the United States Army. He served during the end of WWII and the beginning of the Korean War before his honorable discharge on May 26, 1951.
In 1973, Thomas and Lorena purchased their home on West Rush Lake. As a young man, Thomas worked as a Barber before finding his true calling as a Real Estate Agent. Over the years he was able to establish his own firm, Rowland Inc. Realty.
Thomas loved the outdoors, especially his home on West Rush Lake, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge in a good game of chess. He loved to share stories with family and friends. Thomas was a faithful catholic and a longtime member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Braham. He will be missed.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorena, son Rocke, and 8 brothers and 1 sister.
He is survived by his daughters, Jeanie (Allen) Louzon and Becky Rowland; grandchildren, Maria (Victor) Diaz, Casper (Jeni), Tony (Denise) Louzon, Luann (Dan) Hubers, Robert (Lindsey) Louzon, and Chad (Nicole); 10 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
