Monica was the daughter of Mattie Mae Colbert. She was educated in the Macon County School System attending Lamson Richardson Elementary School in Marshallville, Georgia, Macon County Junior High School in Oglethorpe, Georgia and Macon County High School in Montezuma, Georgia where she graduated with Honors. She attended Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins, Georgia, where she received a diploma in Nursing. She was employed with the Summer Hill Nursing Center in Perry, Georgia as a LPN.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Sabrina Colbert and Rosa Lee Colbert and 1 niece, Shonda Colbert.

1 Nephew: Wallace Jackson.
1 Great Niece: Khadajah Jackson.
6 Devoted Friends: Angela Robinson, Hodges Clarington, John Quincy Clarington, Roy Clarington, Troy Clarington and Tony Clarington.
Services were held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 1PM in the Sanctuary of Saint Louis CME Church in Fort Valley, Georgia.
