Squire and his wife Milly and family travelled the Oregon Trail. They settled in Washington, in what was then Clark County, and named their land "Woodland Farm" because of the surrounding fir tree's. Their land is currently the town of Woodland, Washington in present day Cowlitz County. It was named Woodland by their son Christopher Columbus Bozarth, who had inherited the land and place a store there, where the local post office was.
