Her interest in employment led her to Atlantic City in 1947. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Atlantic City where she loved her role as "The Gate Keeper", having served on the usher board for 60 years and as a member of the South Jersey Fellowship of Ushers until her health began to decline.
She leaves to cherish her 100-year legacy: daughter, Gardenia "Deenie" Leary (Joe); grandchildren, Brett Emmanuel and Tiffany Leary Godfrey (Dexter); great-grandsons, Henry Joseph Godfrey and Chase Dexter Godfrey; and her special nurse Michael.
Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Second Baptist Church, 110 Rev. Dr. I.S. Cole Plaza, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 9AM to 10:30AM. Interment Lincoln Memorial Park, Mays Landing.
