Jake first came to Alaska in the early 1950s to seek adventure and prospect for gold.
He returned in 1960 and began establishing himself in the oil and gas industry.
In 1969, he founded and operated Katmai Oil and Gas until his retirement in 1986.
Jake's passions in life were golf, fishing and boating in and around Seward, Alaska.
Jake is survived by his son, TJ; and his daughter, Liza.
