Tamula Monique Sims, 38, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Houston, Texas. She was born on August 24, 1979 to the union of Delane Stanley and the late Eddie Sims in Houston, Texas. Tamula was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Temple, Texas under the leadership of Reverend Edward Maze. Tamula enjoyed taking care of kids, reading, writing poetry and cooking, especially tamales and stir fry. 

Tamula is reunited with her son, Nicholas Sims; father, Eddie Sims; grandmothers, Gladys Oliver White and Elizabeth Sims and her great-grandmother, Willie Mae Oliver. Tamula leaves in God’s care, her devoted mother, Delane Stanley; four foster children, Annabelle, Jesus, Guadalupe and Jose Gonzalez; Janhanselor, whom she cared for as a son since age 4; sister, Lakis Bogany and husband Larry; brother, Montra Sims; sister, Lakita Warren; two special aunts, Girlie Stanley and Debra Chandler and husband Alvin Sr.; two special uncles, William Stanley and David Sims and wife Gina; Andrea Beck, who was like another mother in her life and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends left to cherish her legacy of life and love. 

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Tamula will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Garden of Memories following the celebration of her life. 

The family extends a special thanks to the Lvad Team at St. Luke’s Hospital, Dr. Davis and Nurse Kerry with the Surgical ICU at St. Luke’s Hospital, Dr. Goff and Terry Gregory for the love and care extended to Tamula.
