Mrs. Barker, born in Ashe County, was the daughter of the late Ardle and Cordie Woodie Darnell. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dwight and Gary Darnell; a sister, Mildred Darnell Bowlin.
She was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Glendale Springs, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Junior Barker; a son, Tracy Kilby and wife Tracy Snyder of Jefferson; two sisters, Joyce Pruitt and husband Jerry of Laurel Springs; and Peggy Hart and husband Paul of Laurel Springs; four brothers, Bill Darnell and wife Barbara of Wilkesboro; Rocky Darnell and wife Pat of Wilkesboro; J.D. Darnell and wife Andrea of West Jefferson; and Roger Darnell and wife Carol of Wilkesboro; three grandchildren, Karanda Weaver, Tanner Kilby and Tayren Kilby; several nieces and nephews.
