She was born March 8, 1948 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Harry and Hester Howard Young.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Wayne Owen, a daughter, Katherine Janean Owen and her only sibling, Jane Young Outen.
She is survived by daughters Angela Marie Rangel and Mary Leigh Moreno and sons, Hunter Wayne Owen and Conrad Vance Owen. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren along with her life partner Ulysses Long.
She lived a quiet life, content with watching movies and writing in her diary. She will be dearly missed by many.
A private graveside service will be conducted Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery, Statesville with the Rev. Phillip McCoy officiating.
