Woman had been employed as chef at BU
Tammy Sue (Hess) Hamilton, 45, of West Anthony Avenue, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at her home.
Born Nov. 22, 1964, in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of Nancy L. (Hummel) Hess of Berwick and the late Elwood A. Hess, who died in 2000. She and her husband, David A. Hamilton, would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 30.
Tammy had been employed as a chef at Bloomsburg University and had also worked for the Lightstreet and Catawissa Sunocos.
She attended Bloomsburg area schools and then graduated from the Millville Area High School.
Tammy's hobbies included fishing, yard sales, cake decorating, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are her two children: Jason A. Hamilton and his wife, Tara, and Megan L. Witmer and her husband, Russ, all of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren: Kira, Felicia and Wesley Hamilton, Zeke Witmer and Chantelle Medina; three sisters: Nancy L. Myers of Nanticoke; Tina M. Jenkins and her husband, William, of Berwick; and Donna L. Hess of Berwick; a brother, Elwood C. Hess and his wife, Vickie, of Berwick, and her mother-in-law, Helen Evans of Benton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (Rt. 487). Burial will be in the Raven Creek Cemetery. The viewing will be held Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. at McMichael's.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the family to assist with the expenses.
