Brian F. Berger, 41, of Columbus, passed away Sept. 30 at Columbus Community Hospital. He was born in La Grange, May 12, 1961 to James S. and Mae Belle (Schuette) Berger and married Barbara Lamberth, May 31, 1980. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, Hermann Sons Lodge 243 of Bernardo and the Columbus Cardinal Booster Club. He was employed by Hanson Building Materials of America, Inc. at a welder-machinist.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin and Bertha Berger and Hugo and Odilia Schuette.He is survived by his wife; parents; son, Bradley Berger of Columbus; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kirby and Helen Berger and Hugh and Susan Berger all of Columbus; mother-in-law, Wilma Lamberth of Cat Spring; and brothers-in-law, Lester Lamberth of Cat Spring and Henry Lee Lamberth and friend Connie Curlee of Columbus. Funeral services were conducted Oct. 3 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Hunsicker officiating. Interment followed at Zoar Lutheran Cemetery in Mentz. Pallbearers were William "Leete" Etheridge, Lee Roy Schuette, Charles "Chuck" Leyendecker Jr., Tommy Henneke, Jonathan, Justin, Kirk and Kenny Berger. Honorary Pallbearers were The Columbus Cardinal Football players and staff. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bradley Berger Education Fund c/o Columbus State Bank, P.O. Box 249, Columbus, TX 78934.
