Brett James Young passed on Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2018 into the arms of his Savior Jesus our Lord, in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 44 years.
Brett James Young was born April 30, 1973 in Cushing to Bill and Diana Sue Young. His entire early education was in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School with the Class of 1992. Brett excelled in sports even at a young age, playing football quarterback and basketball because of his height of 6 feet 3 inches.
Brett graduated in December of 1997 from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah Oklahoma with a major in Safety Management and a minor in Industrial Operations Management. He was on the Deans’ and Presidents’ Honor Roll. Brett enjoyed Education so much; he was also a Licensed Real Estate Agent and a Registered Emergency Medical Technician. He had a work ethic of always being on time. His favorite employment included Southwest Airlines, Safety Manager, Dallas Texas; Cushing Youth Center, and presently for the Educational Development Corporation, Tulsa Oklahoma.
Brett was a strong Church attendee and his faith in God. He was a lover of his motorcycles, Family, sports and pets. He loved supporting his nephews and niece in sporting events and family togetherness.
Survivors include mother Diana Sue Young and father Bill Young of Cushing; sister Deidra Okeefe and her husband Dan, niece Darrian, nephews Dolan and Dylan all of Tulsa; grandmother Velma Dean Long of Drumright; Aunt Deanie Moore of Tulsa and special cousins Matt and Scott Moore of Oklahoma and Jon Tuttle of Cushing; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Brett was predeceased by grandfather Melvin A Long and grandparents, O. Bea Young and Bessie.
A sharing of Brett’s life will be held on Sunday March 11, 2018 from 2p.m. until 4 p.m., come and go, in the Floyd Family Center. Please come in casual attire to celebrate this time with the family.
