WADE - Sterling Havolock Fox, 63, prominent potato grower and shipper, died Monday morning at his farm home here after a long illness.
Mr. Fox was born in Southhampton, York County, N. B., the son of Wilmont and Lucy Balis Fox, and lived in Wade and Perham 62 years. He was a member of Pioneer lodge AF&AM of Washburn. Garfield Chapter of Caribou, the Maine Farm Bureau, and the Aroostook Extension Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Axi Davis Fox, a son, Basil, and a daughter, Mrs. Ola Haynes, all of Wade; three brothers. Stanley of Wade, George of Keever, N. Y., and John of California; six sisters, Mrs. Nellie Bull of Presque Isle, Mrs. Ruth Silver of Wade, Mrs. Annie Umphrey of Washburn, Mrs. Ada Goodridge of Buckfield, Mrs. Winifred Milligan of Berlin, N. H., and Mrs. Addie Blackstone of Washburn; and six grandchildren, Sterling and Bonnie Haynes and Gary, Jill, Ronald, and Jeffery Fox, all of Wade.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Baptist Church of Washburn. The Rev. Read Blackstone, pastor of the Dunntown Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by the, Rev. J. Wesley Stuart, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Washburn.

Bearers were Alden Bull, Archie Silver, Kenneth Fox, Dale Umphrey, Donald Blackstone, and Willard Fox. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetary Perham, later in the spring
