James Clinton "Caesar” Lang entered this life on November 30, 1937. He was born to John Claude and Tennie Pearl (Adcock) Lang, in Overbrook, Love County, OK. Caesar went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 1, 2018 in Marietta, OK at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Caesar attended and graduated from Meadowbrook in Love Co. and attended Barber School in Oklahoma City, OK. He was elected and served as the Mayor of Marietta for many years. Caesar also worked as a Barber, Bail Bondsman, Jeweler and Pawn Shop Operator. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Marietta. Caesar enjoyed going to sporting events with his grandchildren, loved making jewelry and flipping houses. He was a member of the Optimist Club, founded the school’s Booster Club and was a Master Mason. Caesar will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding him in death are his parents John Claude and Tennie Pearl (Adcock) Lang, brothers, Oral "Brother" Lang, Delbert Lang and Velton “ Brutus” Lang, sisters, Mildred Lang, Autrey May (Lang) Beardon, Vernia (Lang) Kurbo and Essie Marie Lang, brother-in-law, Bill McGehee.
Caesar is survived by his loving wife Alda Mae Lang of the home in Marietta, OK; daughter, Sherry Higgins and husband Dee of Marietta, OK; son, Jeff Lang and wife Angie of Marietta, OK; granddaughter, Kylie and Amanda Lang of Sherman, TX, grandsons, Caleb Story of Ada, OK and Cash Lang of Marietta, OK; step grandchildren, Bobbi Lambert and husband Holden of Ringling, OK, Brian Mullins and wife Catrina of Euless, TX; sisters, Loonita McGehee of Marietta, OK, Wanda Shellenberger and husband F.A. "Butch", sisters- in- law, Nancy Lang of Hendersonville, TN, Joy Lang of Odessa, TX, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Family will receive friends and other family on Monday March 5, 2018 from 5:00 PM thru 8:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Marietta, OK for Visitation. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Marietta, OK, with Rev. Jason Langley officiating. Caleb Story, Cash Lang, Scott Lang, Michael Lang, Doug Barger, Michael Sampson, Lance Hartman, Byron Self, Michael Story and Karl Kuykendall will be serving as Pallbearers, with Randy Baumann, Mike Baumann, Rick McMillan, Bill Dvorak, Jim Selby, Joe Bell, Vance McGill, Dean Pearman and Eddie Brown serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Marietta, OK.
