HURST- Doris "Dot" Haynes, age 81, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 with her four children by her side. Dot had a long battle with COPD, but is now in peace and comfort.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to the American Lung Association or American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
Dot was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of Rodrick W. Smith and Vivian D. Strickland. Dot was a loving wife to the late, Cecil S. Haynes for 54 years, a caring mother to four children and a friend to many. She was first and foremost a housewife while also working at GTE for a number of years, having long lasting friendships. Family was Dot's passion and delight, especially when everyone gathered at her house for dinner during holidays, birthdays or to just come together. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Cami Mason.
Survivors: Sons, Gary Haynes and wife, Karla, and Marty Haynes and wife, Michele; daughters, Cathy Frank and husband, Danny, and Vicki Swisher and husband, John; brother, Arnie Juge; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
