Paul B. Hess, 94, of Morgantown, died at home on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

He was the husband of the late Mary Jane Wiley Hess who died in 2005. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Aaron R. and Lillie H. Bender Hess.

Paul retired from Grace Mines of Bethlehem Steel in 1977 after 28 years of employment. He then started the Hess Siding Company which he ran for many years. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid gardener. He was a life member of the Twin Valley Fire Co. and a member of the Col. Jacob Morgan American Legion Post 537 in Morgantown.
Paul had served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Surviving are two daughters, Margaret “Peggy” wife of Kenneth Hackman of Denver, and Mary Lou wife of Ronald Wenger of Duncannon; two sons, P. Douglas Hess of Mohnton, and Jack husband of Kimberly McAfee Hess of Morgantown; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Anderson, by sisters, Emma Good, Nora Lichty and Mildred Weaver, and by brothers, Charles Hess and Walter Hess.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eckenroth Funeral Home, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Caernarvon Cemetery, Morgantown, PA
