Roy Presnell Buchanan, 81, of Catawba, passed away Tuesday, Feb 27, 2018, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 16, 1936, in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Roy Brown Buchanan and Junie Mae Whisnant Buchanan.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his son, Terry Buchanan; brother, Claude Buchanan; and sister, Bunny Bolick.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Bolick Buchanan of the home; son, Brent Buchanan and wife, Susan of Conover; daughter, Dawn Yount and husband, Brad of Taylorsville; three grandchildren, Dylan and Savanna Buchanan of Maiden, Colston Yount of Taylorsville; two siblings, Charles Buchanan and wife, Barbara of Connelly Springs, Mary Sigmon of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Catawba Memorial Park, with the Rev. Don Ingle officiating.
