When Otis Edward Crawford was born on November 24, 1920, his father, Otis Patrick Crawford
1892– 1947, he was 28 and his mother, Mary Estella "Stella" Brewer 1902–1989, she was 17.
Otis Edward Crawford married Opal Jean Ruth Wasley in Chehalis, Washington, on September 6, 1939, when he was 18 years old and they had three children together

Opal would later leave him and her children for another man while he was still active duty. They were divorced in 1945.
He would later meet Marion Mullenix and her daughter Karen. They were soon married in 1946. They had a son Edward Arnold Crawford 1947–2015.
They were married for 55 years until his death on August 1, 2001, in Grayland, Washington, at the age of 80.
Otis Edward Crawford enlisted in the Army on July 12, 1944, in Lewis, Washington, during World War II. He was 23 years old. Army serial # 39475599
After the War Ed was hired by the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company and worked for them for 20 years logging the PeEll Area. He would spend his next 30 years logging for the Simpson Timber Company out of Shelton as a Hook Tender located out of Camp Govey. He loved logging the high country around Lake Cushman and the surrounding peaks.
