Jon Everette Jenkins, 72, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital after a courageous fight against organ failure. He was born October 4, 1945 in Surry County to the late Will and Gladys Whitaker Jenkins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his twin brother Jonathan Richard Jenkins and 8 siblings. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Carrie Wood Jenkins, 1 son, Andy (Sue) Jenkins of Stuart, VA, 2 daughters, Marilyn Jenkins of Almunacar, Spain, Gina (Randy) Wood of Thurmond, NC, grandchildren Talesa (Levi) Carter, Timothy Jenkins, John (Savannah) Jenkins, great grandchildren Elijah, Brooklyn, Benjamin, Jaden, Kaleb, and the joy of his heart Xoey Carter. 5 brothers Bobby, Frank, Danny, Donnie and Burnie. Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Jenkinstown Rd. Dobson by Rev. Glinard Lawson and Rev.
