Retired Farmer Dies

Robert Galloway, RR1 Cumberland, a native of North Gower, died on Tuesday afternoon at his home after a prolonged illness. He was 68 years of age. Born and educated at North Gower, he was the son of the late Mr and Mrs Robert Galloway. He was married at Ottawa in 1905 to the former Sarah McCooeye and she survives him. A farmer all his life, Mr Galloway farmed at Cubmerland until his retirement in July 1947. He was a member of Cumberland United Church.
Suriving besides his widow are three sons, Walter Robert, Ottawa, Hugh James, Billings' Bridge, and Stewart Orville, Cumberland; a daughter, Mrs Erwin (Violet) Deavy, Ottawa; two brothers, William and James, Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs Hugh Paden, Osgoode, and Mrs Calvin Curren, Billings' Bridge; and six grandchildren.
Rev. V.M. Gilbert of Cumberland United Church will conduct the funeral service at Hulse and Playfair's on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment will be made at Cumberland.
