Shirley A. Leikam, 68, Hays, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at St. John's of Hays Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Ellis to Rudolph and Regina (Reitmeyer) Augustine.
She married Don Leikam Feb. 19, 1962, in Hays. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Hays; three daughters, Kim Dechant and husband, Jeff, and Jackie Ruder and husband, Chad, all of Hays, and Sandy Linenberger and husband, David, Salina; seven brothers; two sisters; her mother-in-law, Kathleen Leikam, Salina; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Jeffrey, and Heather Dechant, Jason and Nathan Augustine, Christian Linenberger, and Shannon and Amy Ruder; a great-grandson, Cameron Dechant; and a great-grandson to be born.
At her request, there will be no services. Memorials are suggested to St. John's of Hays or Hays Senior Center in care of the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine.
