Sara Worth Seymour Huffman, 91, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Sara was born on March 5, 1926 in Goshen, Alabama. At the age of 17 she moved to Montgomery to attend Massey Draughon Business School and later worked at Parts Service Company. After World War II, she married Elbird Gordon Huffman, Sr. on March 10, 1946, and they lived in Montgomery, Alabama where they raised their three children. Sara worked most of her career with the Social Security Administration.

Sara loved Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and lived out her faith daily. She was the last surviving charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where she faithfully served her Lord for over 50 years. She was a faithful member of Bible Study Fellowship for many years and she is responsible for many of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren studying God's Word through BSF.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elbird Gordon Huffman, Sr., her parents, Andrew Jefferson and Mary Melissa "Mae" Seymour, and her brother, Ronald Tyner Seymour. She is survived by her sister-in-law: Della Layton Seymour, children: Elbird Gordon Huffman, Jr. (Debbie), David Worth Huffman (Barbara), and Angela Huffman Scott (Mike): grandchildren Christopher Huffman (Heather), Melissa Huffman Willis (Greg), Elizabeth Huffman Wash (Robert), JonDavid Huffman (Amy), Daniel Huffman, Benjamin Huffman, Susan Scott Carothers (Alexander), Laura Scott Young (Phillip), and thirteen great grandchildren.

The Visitation will be Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 12:30-1:30 and the Service at 1:30 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 5260 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36116. In lieu of flowers, love offerings may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
