Irene R. Aguirre went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday February 24, 2018. A funeral mass will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5410 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Irene was born January 14, 1940 to Leonardo and Irene Aguirre in Coleman, Texas. She had and raised three beautiful daughters which she loved with all her heart. She worked with the State Health Department for 27 years traveling 19 different counties which served schools, daycares, and home nurseries. With her career she meet many people and enjoyed her job and serving the community. She always wore a smile on her face. Since retirement she’s enjoyed her home, church and family. Irene is a 3 time cancer survivor and fought a hard fight all the way to the end. She was a dedicated mother and nana who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Rodriguez Cabrera; her father, Leonardo Aguirre; brother, Leon Aguirre; sister, Celia Gonzales; and great grandson, Miloh Murdock.

Irene is survived by her three daughters, Mary Alice Murdock, Silvia Choate, and Cecilia Ann Reinoehl; grandchildren, Matthew Murdock, Nathaniel Murdock, Garrett Pope, Alexis Pope, and Gabriel Pope; five great grandchildren and one due in August; her siblings, Benjamin Aguirre, Raymond Aguirre, Johnny Aguirre, Cecilia Germain, and Antonia Herrera; and many nieces and nephews.
