He was born in Edgemont, South Dakota on December 10th 1939 to Harold Thompson and Elsie Webster.
Floyd married Norma Nelson on January 22nd 1960 and they later had three children Debra, Danny and Dean. He retired from BNSF after 43 years as an engineer. He was a member of the BNSF retirement club, lifelong eagles and the panhandle men’s club.
Survivors include his wife Norma and his three children, Debra Vogler of Denver, CO, Danny Thompson of Alliance and Dean Thompson of Denver, his three grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Danielle and one great grandchild Brinlee. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Keil of Aurora, OH and Beverly Rusk of Cheyenne, WY and his brother Darwin Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gordon and his granddaughter, Nicole.
