Ralph Lombard, 85, of Sun Lakes AZ , entered into eternal life January 22, 2018. He was born on June 22, 1932 in Lexington, MA to Harold and Helen Lombard. After a happy childhood in Lexington he attended Northeastern University in Boston. 1955 was a banner year for Ralph when he graduated Northeastern with a BSME (Bachelor Science Mechanical Engineering) and married the love of his life, Lillian. Ralph continued his education earning an MSME from Rensselaer Polytechnic, as well as an MBA from Uconn. His engineering career included Pratt Whitney Aircraft, Homelite Chainsaws and Snapper Lawn & Garden. He left the corporate world to start his own consulting firm, Lombard Technical Consultants. Ralph & Lillian raised their two children, Sally and Ralph Jr. first in Middlefield, CT, then Stamford CT before moving to Charlotte, NC in 1976. They doted on, and helped raise, their only grandson Joshua Lombard. In 2005 Ralph & Lillian retired to Sun Lakes, AZ. Ralph's many interests included a love of woodworking, photography, cars, computers, sports and especially dogs. Although Ralph suffered many physical ailments during his lifetime he always maintained a very positive attitude and deep faith.
Ralph is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Sally & Kirk Woodward of Mesa, AZ, Ralph Lombard Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Joshua Lombard of Marietta, GA, great grandchildren Kylie, Madeline and Logan and brother Harold Lombard Jr. of Springfield VT. Ralph also leaves behind 2 "granddaughters by Love" - Stephanie Lombard of Dunwoody, GA and Jacqueline Kincer of Phoenix, AZ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by his wife Lillian and brother David.
