Mrs. Lola Gray Richardson Combs, 81, of Winston Salem, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Glenn A Kiser Hospice House. Mrs. Combs was born in Forsyth County on April 10, 1936, to the late Matthew D. and Maggie Green Richardson. She loved working in her flower garden, and enjoyed her weekend car rides with her son and daughter-in-law. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie M. Richardson and Mildred R. Price; and one brother, Matthew D. Richardson. Surviving are one daughter, Rita Loper (Randy) of Winston-Salem; two sons, Jeffrey E. Combs (Kim) and Steven W. Combs (Lynn) of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Joshua Combs (Bethany), Jason Loper (Sandra), Patricia Phipps (Waylon), and Travis Loper; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Loper, Wesley Phipps, and Wyatt Phipps. Also surviving are her beloved sisters and brothers, Audrey Hughes, Ruby Younger, JohnC, Carlton, and William C. “Pete” Richardson. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Grace Bible Church, 3904 Woodview Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Pkwy, Rural Hall, NC 27045. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
