IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine Adele McMurtrey Robbins

Christine was born May 9, 1950 in Rigby, Idaho; the first of Marion John McMurtrey and Jean LaRae Merrill's seven children. Chris loved her childhood and spoke of it often. She had many wonderful memories from Shelley, Idaho, Baltimore, Maryland, and Atlanta, Georgia. Her teenage years in Salt Lake City, Utah and Houston, Texas were full of friends, activities, parties, laughter, and pure joy.
Chris' college years were spent at Ricks College, Utah State University, and Weber State where she earned a degree in English as a second language. Chris loved languages and spoke French and Spanish. She was a master teacher and was loved by her students.
While in college Chris married Curtis Rudd and started her own family. They had three wonderful children: Shanda, Matt, and Lindsay. Later Chris married Kelly Robbins.
Besides teaching, Chris loved to knit and crochet, cook gourmet foods, and read and discuss books - especially the classics and the scriptures. She loved all kinds of music, particularly the Beatles. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chris enjoyed serving in many church callings. Chris was a temple worker for several years in the Ogden Utah Temple.
Chris was famous for her incredible, infectious sense of humor. Her special gift was to make everyone around her feel loved and happy. For the last few years Chris spent a lot of time in hospitals and care centers. She got to know everyone who served. her. She appreciated the housekeepers, the aides, the nurses, and the doctors, and she made each of them smile.
Chris was so happy to spend the last months of her life in the loving care of Lindsay and Isaac with support from Shanda, Matt, and Tiffany. Chris felt blessed to have the opportunity to spend more time with her precious grandchildren. Her great joys were her children and grandchildren.
"God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelations 21:4)
