Raymond "Pete" Sullivan, 76, departed this life on the afternoon of Friday, February 24, 2018.
He was born in St. Louis, MO, on July 5, 1941, and grew up in Shippensburg. He graduated from Shippensburg Senior High School in 1958. After high school he attended Kutztown State College where he received a bachelor's degree in education and played football and track. Pete became a member of the Kutztown football hall of fame in 1986 and a part of the all decade team. He had 38 years of teaching experience working overseas in Thailand, Iran, and Bangladesh, as well as extensive time spent in the Shippensburg School District as both an elementary teacher at Nancy Grayson and a football coach at Shippensburg Senior High School.
Pete is survived by his former spouse, Susan Sullivan of The Villages, FL; his sons, John Sullivan and wife, Casey of Aurora, CO, and Lek Sullivan and wife, Gina of Bala Cynwyd, PA; his sisters, Peg Malloy and Maureen Sullivan-McElroy of Kenmore, NY; his four grandchildren, Aedan, Abby, Christian, and Allie Sullivan. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Laverne Crow-Sullivan and Robert C. Sullivan.
A memorial service will be held at Fogelsanger Bricker Funeral Home at 11 AM on Saturday, March 3, 2018, with visitation starting at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The Branch Creek Senior Center Meals on Wheels, 115 N Fayette St, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
