Loren (Casey) Ralph Case of Eldon, MO, passed away on February 16, 2018 in Columbia, MO. Loren was born at home in Osborne County, KS on January 21, 1943 to Ralph and Ruby (Morrell) Case While growing up in east Independence, MO, he became an Eagle Scout and a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic O Say, receiving the honorary name, Least Bright Green Beetle. He began a career with Kansas City Power and Light Company in 1969 as a journeyman lineman, IBEW local 1464. He restored power to a lot of customers throughout his career, and was working for Union Electric in mid-Missouri in 2000 and a member of IBEW local 1439 when he retired.
Prior to retirement, Loren loved to ride his BMW motorbike. He took many trips around the country as well as simply traveling around the city. He ended up receiving several 100K mile awards from BMW. Upon retiring, Loren bought a 24 foot English-built pocket cruiser and began a lifelong dream. In October 2000 he and his wife Angie sailed down the Missouri River from Jefferson City to the Mississippi River, making their way to the Gulf of Mexico. Their trip culminated in their arrival at Key West, FL in May of 2001. The adventure was well under way! They lived on the boat for most of their stay in Key West. Loren worked as a tour guide at Hemingway Home which resulted in meeting people from all over the world. Those who had him as their guide loved his easy demeanor and his many stories. Loren loved the outdoors, he was a hunter as well as an avid fly fisherman who tied many of his own flies. The morning of his passing he said he was headed to the “happy fishing ground."
Loren leaves his wife Angela (Angie) Case of Eldon, MO; brothers, Victor (Vic) Case and Clifford (Cliff) Case; children, James Ultican (Desiree), Jeffrey Ultican (Angie), Lucinda (Cindy) Case-Harmon (Kevin), Loreen Mowery (Bill), Sarah Duane (Adam), and Chris Case (Cathy). Loren also leaves 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchilden. Along with extended family and friends he’s made along the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruby Case and his first wife, Lenita (Ultican) Case. The twinkle in his blue eyes, his easy demeanor and wonderful stories and smile will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Bible Way Church of Eldon. Interment will be private for the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Family of Loren Case.
