Dr. Duane A. Dukes, 67 of Findlay, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on October 7, 1950 in Findlay, Ohio to Blaine Dukes and Barbara Fisher. On June 24, 1983, he married Nancy Fleeter and she preceded him in death in June of 2015. Duane is survived by his mother, Barbara Gassman of Findlay; sisters, Nancy Kinser and Patricia Gill both of Findlay and his faithful, fury friend "Suzie." He is preceded in death by his father and brothers, L. Dean Dukes and Karl John Gassman. Duane earned his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. He then went on to receive his master and doctoral degrees from Kent State University. Duane was a professor at John Carroll University where he started the forensic science program. The family would like to thank the surgeons and nurses at Blanchard Valley Hospital for their care of Duane. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Marianne Higley officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hancock County Humane Society and the Howard United Methodist Church. Condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.
