Deceased Name: Ann Kurth
Ann Kurth, a key figure in the "Blood and Money" saga of Houston socialites John and Joan Hill, died Saturday at the age of 59.
Ms. Kurth had suffered an aneurysm and had been in St. David's Hospital for almost a month before she died, said officials at the Hyltin-Manor Funeral Chapel.
Ms. Kurth was the second wife of Houston plastic surgeon John Hill. They were married in 1969, less than two months after Hill's first wife, Joan Hill, died of a mysterious infection.
After a mistrial was declared in John Hill's trial on charges that he murdered his wife, he was gunned down in his River Oaks home before he could be retried.
In "Blood and Money," author Tommy Thompson implied that Ash Robinson, Joan Hill's father, hired the gunman who killed his son-in-law.
The marriage between Ms. Kurth and Hill lasted less than a year, and she testified before a Harris County grand jury shortly after they were divorced in 1970. Ms. Kurth later said she and Hill split up because "he tried to kill me and I was afraid for my life."
Ms. Kurth later published a book "Prescription: Murder," which was released shortly after "Blood and Money."
