She was born August 10, 1931, in Cantwell, the daughter of the late Robert B. Smith and Lorine (Thomure) Smith. Carol is preceded in death by one sister, Norma Jean Smith and one brother Robert Dale Smith. She is survived by her husband, Ewell E. (Gene) Conway of Indianapolis; daughter Kay (Conway) Roberts; and granddaughter Lindsay of Powder Springs, Ga.; son Kim Conway and wife Carol (Walls) Conway; granddaughter Andrea Conway and grandson Scott Conway all of Indianapolis; two sisters, Doris (Smith) Gibson, and Judy (Smith) Nance of Desloge.
