Edward Jones Sjoberg died October 18, 2013, at the age of 97, in South Ogden, Utah of causes incident to age.

He was born February 26, 1916 in Millville, Utah, son of Lawrence Edward and Mabel Jones Sjoberg. He was reared and educated in Logan, Utah. He married the love of his life, Flora Bird Fifield, November, 22, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple June 12, 1940. Edward was a member of the South Ogden Fifth Ward and served in several positions in the Priesthood Quorum and the Geneological Committee. He served as a Stake Missionary and he and his wife were officiators in the Ogden Temple for over 20 years. They blessed many lives with the work they did at the Temple. Edward also enjoyed gardening and always had a plentiful harvest of fruits and vegetables to feed his family. His healthy lifestyle led to his longevity of 97 years. He was avid in the scouting program and spent many years in scouting positions as well as Scout Commissioner. He received his 50 Year Pin in Scouting as well as the Silver Beaver Award, which is the highest award presented by the BSA Council. Edward was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as an Engineer for HAFB for 30 years. Upon his retirement he furthered his education and went into business for himself as a Massage Therapist.

Edward is survived by his wife Flora; 4 sons and 1 daughter: Duane Grant (Sondra), Donald Ray (Edie), Linda Jean (Craig) Russell, Glen Edward (Carolyn), and Jay Allen Sjoberg; a large prosperity of 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Russell. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joseph and Narwin Sjoberg; sister Irma Maughan; 2 daughters, Sharon Martin and Gayle King.

The family would like to thank Manor Care and Legacy Hospice for their love and care of Edward prior to his death. Instead of flowers, please make a contribution to the Primary Children’s Hospital in Edward’s name.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the South Ogden 5th Ward, 4380 Orchard Ave., South Ogden UT 84403, where a viewing will be held, 10 – 10:45 a.m. Interment, Logan City Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home, Taylorsville, Utah.
