Mr. Harry Lee Whitworth, Jr., age 83, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances “Fran” Whitworth; and his parents. He is survived by his son, Colin A. Whitworth and wife, Kristina Jackson, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Lucinda Pearl Whitworth, and Summer Rose Whitworth, Toronto, Canada; sisters and brother-in-law, Muarcia Blake, Alpharetta, GA, Barbara Husack, Fayetteville, GA, and Jack Johnson, Fayetteville, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Steve and Lynn Mobley, Douglasville, GA, and Richard Mobley, Fayetteville, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Whitworth was born May 3, 1934 in Fulton County, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy with four years of service. He attended GA Tech and was retired from RCA. He was an amateur radio operator and became a pilot at the age of 40. Mr. Whitworth enjoyed playing Bridge with his wife and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA. A memorial graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
