Marilyn Jeanne Richards died February 18th 2018 at the age of 84. Marilyn was raised in Rockville Centre, NY, along with her two sisters, and married her sweetheart, Robert Arthur Richards, in 1951. They moved to Wantagh, NY and raised their five children there. The couple moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1973, and lived off Bee Ridge road for the next 45 years. Marilyn was a valued member Michael Saunders Company for 25 years, a voracious reader, and an expert on Irish History, inspired by her Grandparents' journey from Roscommon, Ireland to New York at the turn of the 20th century. Marilyn and Robert lovingly celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary shortly before he passed away in 2011. Marilyn is survived by her younger sister Kathy, her five children, Karyn, Bobby, David, Anne, and Keith, eight grand-children, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her younger sister Elizabeth Anne Naughton. Marilyn was a beloved matriarch amongst her family and will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery at 1pm on Friday, March 2, 2018.
