Tommy Collier, 68, of Abbeville, Georgia, died Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Navicent Health in Macon.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ben Hill County, with the Rev. Roy Conner and the Rev. Craig Barnette officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Collier was born March 11, 1949, in Chatham County, Georgia, to Mildred Wilkerson Collier and the late Leroy Collier. He was a hard worker having been in maintenance at Lowell Packing, working as a millwright with Lamar Gibbs, roofing with Nasworthy Roofing, and burying cable with Black Industries. He loved to fish and enjoyed going to church and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Collier was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a former member and deacon of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty Jean Collier of Abbeville; his children: Chastity Harper of Abbeville, Michelle & Terry Jowers of Abbeville, Valerie Barnwell of Warner Robins, Lamar & Debra Collier of Ashburn, Tammy & David Brewer of Albany, and Robbie Dell Collier of Ashburn; grandchildren: Dakota Harper, Tyler Jowers, Madison Jowers, Hayden Harper, Brennan Barnwell, McKenzie Harper, Brady Barnwell, and Leland Jowers; his mother, Mildred W. Collier of Ludowici; two brothers: James & Jacquelyn Collier of Abbeville and Lee Collier of Abbeville; and a sister, Margie & Hugh Reddish of Ludowici. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andrianna Hope Harper; two sisters: Mary Ann Williams and Elizabeth Collier; and a brother, Little Leroy Collier.
