RELIEF SILLOWAY VAN VALKENBURG
Died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucene Hinkson, Mrs. Relief Van, March 17, 1914, aged 83 years, 7 months, 28 days. Deceased was born in the town of Java on July 25, 1829. She leaves to mourn their two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Grinsel of Java Lake and Mrs. James Steele of Protection, also one daughter, Mrs. Lucene Hinkson, and five grandchildren; Miss Mamie Moulton, Francis Moulton, Frank Van, Wesley Van and Mrs. Clarence O’Dell. Mrs. Van was a life-long resident of East Holland. She joined the Christian Church of that place about forty-five years ago and has always lived a true and devoted Christian. Mrs. Van had been an invalid about eleven years, but was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Hinkson, and grand-daughter, Miss Mamie Moulton up until the time of her death. The funeral was held at her late home, on March 19th. Reverend Charles Oliver officiating. Burial in Protection.
