Life Legacy

James A. “Jim” Beavers, 67, of Rock, WV went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2018. Born on November 30, 1950 in Squire he was the son of the late Frank J. and Jacqueline Millsap Beavers. Mr. Beavers remained a resident of Squire until he joined the U.S. Army in 1968, where he served eight years, part of that time he served in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Army, Mr. Beavers returned to Squire where he worked a few years in the coal mines before moving to Florida. While living in Florida he worked for Piper Aircraft in Lakeland, FL as a Group Leader on the flight line until they shut down. He then went to work for Mosaic Chemical in Mulberry, FL as an E&I Tech for over twenty three years until he retired in 2008. He then decided to move back to West Virginia. Mr. Beavers and his family settled in Rock, WV, where they still reside. He was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #628 and also the V.F.W. Chapter #3112 in Princeton. Survivors include his spouse of over twenty years, Reba B. Beavers, of Rock; daughter, Deborah Jo Beavers Winters of Lakeland, FL; son, Shawn A. Blanton of DeFuniak Springs, FL; granddaughter, Tori Herndon of Lakeland, FL; grandsons, Brandon K. Blanton of Rock, WV and Talin Winters of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Retired USMC Master Gunnery Sergeant Thomas I. Beavers and wife Susan of Centre, AL, Roger L. Beavers and wife Sheila of Squire, WV, and John “Sam” Beavers and wife Neva of Lebanon, VA; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Johnny and Patricia Godwin of Ocklawaha, FL, Dale Harris and Bill Walls of Polk County, FL, Roger and Deborah Lusk of Rock, WV and Valerie Damon of French Creek, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Wade Quesenberry officiating. The Mercer County Honor Guard and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #628 will conduct military rites at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Wednesday. In keeping with Mr. Beavers wishes his body will be cremated following the service and interred at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA, at a later date.
