Marion Lucille Reynolds, 96, Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Marion was born July 13, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, to Walter and Letha Jerue Schick.

She attended Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois, where she met John Reynolds. He enlisted in the Army in June of 1941 and they were married in La Jolla, California, on February 21, 1942. After the war, he attended Northern Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Upon his graduation, they moved to Topeka, Kansas, where John entered an established optometric practice. He became a very prominent optometrist in Topeka, where Marion and John enjoyed a good life.

Marion enjoyed being married, raising her family and keeping in touch with relatives and friends. She and John enjoyed playing golf and traveling the world. Marion was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was very active for over 50 years. She served on several committees, attended circle and also served as an Elder and a Deacon. She and John helped start the Let’s Help lunch program at Trinity.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, her parents, her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Schick, her nephew, James Schick and her daughter-in-law, Judi Reynolds (David).

Survivors include two sons, Dr. David R. Reynolds of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Dennis J. Reynolds (Tahi) of Chevy Chase, Maryland; three grandchildren, Jennifer R. Barrow of Denver, Colorado, David M. Reynolds (Dee Dee) of Coral Springs, Florida and Dennell Reynolds of Washington D.C.; a great-grandson, Luke Barrow of Denver, Colorado; her brother, Walter Schick of Clearwater, Florida; and several nieces and a nephew.

Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private at Mount Hope Cemetery. A memorial service will be at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
