Linen-Knox Funeral Home announces the Funeral Services for Mrs. Carrie Bell Ford, age 79, of 2139 Dunbar Road in the Dunbar Community of Georgetown. Mrs. Ford died on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. James Gibson and the late Mrs. Rosa Belle Gibson, both of the Dunbar Community. Mrs. Ford is preceded in death by both parents and one sister, the late Ms. Anna Jane Gibson.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ford were held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in the Dunbar Community of Georgetown with the Rev. Dr. Eddie Gamble Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery. The remains lay in state in the sanctuary of the Church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service. A viewing was held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home Chapel on 1632 Emmanuel Street of Georgetown.

Mrs. Ford is survived by her loving husband and family:

Husband, Mr. Ellis Ford of the Dunbar Community of Georgetown; Five Daughters, Mrs. Odessa Graham, Mrs. Gracie Priest, Mrs. Carleen Linnen and Mrs. Vernessa Ford, all of the Dunbar Community of Georgetown, and Mrs. Brenda McCray of Rock Hill, SC; Three Sons, Mr. Elmore Ford and Mr. Gregory Ford, both of the Dunbar Community of Georgetown, and Mr. Dwaine Ford of the Greentown Community of Georgetown; Five Sisters, Mrs. Elnora Holmes and Mrs. Jannie Ferrell, both of Maryland, Mrs. Evelyn Geathers and Mrs. Vergie Greene, both of the Dunbar Community of Georgetown, and Ms. Ethel Gibson of Bronx, NY; Three Brothers, Mr. Alex Gibson, Mr. Thomas Gibson and Mr. James “Jimmy” Gibson, all of the Dunbar Community of Georgetown; and a host of loving Grandchildren, great-grands, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
