lifelong resident of Salisbury community at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. She was the daughter of Earl and Edna Mae (McCollum) Vaughn.
Lucy was a graduate of the Salisbury High School Class of 1959. Following school in December, 1959 she began working in the advertising and make-up departments of the Salisbury Press Spectator, she became receptionist in June, 1969 and Editor in January 1989.
Ms. Vaughn was a member of the First Christian Church in Salisbury where she served as Elder, Sunday School Teacher and Choir Member. She was a member of the Salisbury Music Club, serving as an officer, Salisbury Chamber of Commerce where she served as Secretary for many years and the Salisbury Community Betterment.
Survivors include Uncle, Woodrow Wilson McCollum of Cairo, MO, Uncle and Aunt, Keith and Vernelle McCollum of Columbia, two aunts, Racye Schnichels of Ft. Scott, KS and Betty Summers of Jacksonville, several cousins and a special friend, Kenneth Billue of Salisbury. She was preceded in death by her parents.
