Note that this man served with the 18th Battalion when he was killed in action. He was not killed at St. Eloi, France but at Thelus, near Vimy Ridge, France. He originally volunteered with the 116th Battalion and was transferred to the 18th Battalion on 6 October 1916 and was "in the field" with the Battalion on 22 October 1917.
