Mr. Monroe Frank Thomas, age 91, of Cana, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born March 23, 1926 to the late Robert Martin and Martha McMillian Thomas. He worked at Mount Airy Furniture Company where he retired after many years of Service. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Lois Bryant Thomas of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Janet Thomas, Dwayne and Sheryl Thomas; grandchildren, Christopher Thomas and wife Tracy, and Jimi Thomas; great-grandchildren, Elyjah, Noelle, Hannah, Lynzie, and Will Thomas; brother, Jim Thomas; sister-in-law, Edith Thomas. In addition to his parents Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Coe, Hallie Smith, Sarah Chandler, Magdalene Brown, Jacqueline Scott, Myrtle Davenport; brothers, Ruben, Sam, Wyse and Roscoe Thomas. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Bruce Ayers. Burial will follow in the Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by VFW Post #2019 of Mount Airy and Post #9436 of Pilot Mountain.
