Services for Miriam Williams, 92 of Lufkin, will be held Monday, February 26, 2018, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Williams was born April 8, 1925, in Houston County, Texas, the daughter of the late Vincent Luce and Libby (McClain) Luce. She passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at The Bradford in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Williams was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved hunting and fishing. She enjoyed cooking, especially chicken and dumplings and yeast rolls. Mrs. Williams was a member of First Church of Nazarene for most of her life. She loved her Lord and her church, and was a faithful servant.
She is survived by her son, Ronald E. Williams and wife, Brenda; grandsons, Ryan Williams and Blake Williams; great-grandchildren, Carter and Kaitlyn Williams; step grandchildren, April Clement and husband BJ and Carmen Rayborn; step-great-grandchildren, Molly, Morgan, and Easton; sisters, Barbara Ashby and husband Jessie, Ada Womack and husband Simon, and Linda Grigsby and husband Don; brother, Bill Simpson and wife Elsie; and sister-in-law, Helen Luce.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Williams: two step-mothers, Esther Luce and Mamie Luce, sister, Neta Pate; brothers: Bill Luce and wife Mary Ellen, Donald Luce, Hardy Luce; sister-in-law Glennie Luce; brothers-in-law, Clyde Dominy and Lawrence Pate; and nephews, Mark Luce, Gary Michael Luce and Morris Dominy.
