Francis Joseph Henry was born on December 22, 1938 in Youngstown, Ohio to Sylvester and Marie Henry. Frank attended South High School and in 1958 enlisted in the United States Army. In September of 1959 he married the love of his life, Laraine Harris.
In 1978 Frank and Laraine planted their roots in Katy, Texas where he was employed for Daniel Industries, Ken Wind Company and later retired from Miller Exxon.
Frank loved his wife and family more than anything. He took great pride in knowing that he served his county. That is where he developed his love for history, especially the WWII area. He loved to travel and to experience new restaurants. Frank also had a huge passion for airplanes and flying.
Frank would get a special twinkle in his eye anytime he encountered a child or baby, he loved children and they loved him. Children often would mistake him for Santa Claus. He never met a stranger and brought a smile to the face of everyone he would meet. The world will not be the same without him.
Frank passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in Katy, at the age of 79.
He is survived by his wife, Laraine Henry; daughter, Paula Adair and husband James; sons, Frank Henry Jr. and late wife Whitney, Michael Henry and wife Lynda, and Paul Henry; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren as well as many other loving family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Houston National Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
