James "Jim" Eugene Ditsworth, 78, of Rockford, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at home. Born on April 1, 1939, in Freeport the son of Walter Earl and Velma Wilhelmina (Hacker) Ditsworth. Graduated from Pearl City High School in 1957. Jim married Janice Emily McKee on June 17, 1961 in Messiah Lutheran Church in Rockford. Jim worked for 35 years as a carpenter, 12 of those years as site construction supervisor. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Carpenters Local Union 792, Scout Pack 5 in Winnebago and Scout Troop 59 in Winnebago. Jim was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and he dearly loved his Golden Retrievers.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jan Ditsworth of Rockford; children, Jim Ditsworth of Rockford, Barb (Michael) Wacker of Lincoln, NE, Jill Ditsworth of Rockford; grandchildren, Kristen, Sarah and Brittany Daugherty; brother, Jon Ditsworth; sisters, Jeanne (Dennis) Doran, Janet Schelling; several nieces and nephews. Jim is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Jack Ditsworth, Jay Ditsworth.

Funeral Service was held Saturday, February 24 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 West State St, Rockford. Visitation at noon until time of service. Burial following in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery in Pecatonica, IL.
