Rosa Mae Griffin, 85, a resident of Wheaton Illinois, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on July 30, 1932 in Pickens, South Carolina. She married the love of her life at the young age of 13. She was a hard worker in every position she held with her most priced being a stay at home mother and grandmother. She was survived by her son Doug, daughters Brenda, Linda, Carol, Judy, and Debra; and innumerable grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eugene Charles Griffin.

Rosa Mae faithfully attended Bro. Kenneth Wells church for over 30 years. She taught Sunday school, participated in fundraising, and brought as many as she could fit in her car. She loved the Lord with all her heart and one of her children’s favorite memories is of her reading her Bible and singing worship songs.

She loved nature! She was an avid gardener and had a green thumb like no other. She loved animals of all kinds and each of them were her babies. She could sit for hours watching the trees sway and pointing out every flower and type of bird that flew by.

Above all she loved to serve others. She would always cook and entertain never turning away someone that was hungry. Her home was an open door to anyone that needed love and comfort. The more the merrier was her attitude. She had a special place in her heart for children making sure that no matter who they were or where they came from she showed them love and affection of Christ.

She will be missed by all that knew her but we celebrate and take comfort in knowing that she is with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held on September 30, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church, 10671 US Hwy 301, Oxford, Florida 34484.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers or gifts that a donation be made to support the recent victims of Hurricane Harvey. Please consider making a donation to Compassion Services International. Link to donate: http://www.compassionservices.org/donate
