Ella Frances Curtis, age 86, of Newport, Kentucky, formerly of Pendleton County, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2009, at her niece's home, in Newport. Born on April 23, 1923, in Covington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Mary Etta Riley West. For 20 years, she worked as a nurse's aide at St. Luke Hospital, in Ft. Thomas.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Clarence Ellis Curtis; and three sons, Clarence Lee Curtis, Alvy Curtis and Larry Gene Curtis. She is survived by: five grandchildren, Larry Grant Curtis, of Dayton, Kentucky, Melissa Curtis DiLillo, of Burlington, Kentucky, Tabitha Vaughn Curtis, of Chicago, Illinois, Christopher Curtis, of Butler, Kentucky, and Larry Lee Curtis, of Florida; three great-grandchildren, Nancy Curtis, Tyler DiLillo and Sara DiLillo; and her niece, Mildred Curtis, of Newport, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, at Woodhead Funeral Home, in Falmouth, with Rev. Cohen Copley officiating. The visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will take place in Lenoxburg Cemetery, in Bracken County.
