Surrounded by his siblings and dear friends, Jeffrey Keith Sanders died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the age of 60. Born the third of ten children on April 3, 1957 in Springfield, Massachusetts, Jeffrey was predeceased by his parents, David Keith Sanders and Patricia Ann (Cleary) Sanders and nephew, Michael Brian Elwell. Jeffrey is survived by his nine siblings, Mark Francis (Anne); Christopher Patrick (Chao); Marie Louise Elwell; Alicia Ann Owen; Bernadette Eloise Pendleton (Brian); Pamela Lois Melancon (Mike); Paula Winifred Moshenko (Brian); Angela Elizabeth Leib (Jason); and Kathleen Dolores Sanders (Sister Maria Cabrini, F.M.); 23 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.
After a major accident at the age of 10, Jeffrey was left physically and mentally handicapped. Despite these difficulties, his Faith and love for Our Lady remained strong. While Jeff met with many challenges for fifty years, we have great hope that he now fully understands and appreciates all he merited, as well as every loving sacrifice that his parents and loved ones made for him.
A wake will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 - Richards Funeral Home in Cairo, New York from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and a Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. by the Most Reverend Joseph Santay, C.S.P.V. Jeffs Requiem Mass will be offered by Father Matthew Newman, C.S.P.V on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. - St. Josephs Novitiate in Round Top, New York. The interment will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery in Round Top, New York. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Richards Funeral Home at 29 Bross Street, Cairo, NY 12413.
